Write for us
Stellar Comedy Review welcomes thoughtful pitches from writers with a distinct way of hearing or seeing comedy. We are interested in clear, original work that gives readers a fresh route into comic craft and culture.
What we welcome
Pitch an essay, close reading, comparison or reported cultural piece about comic writing, timing, characters, performance or satire. Strong proposals have a focused question, a clear reason to explore it and enough context for readers who are new to the subject.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the working idea, the main point you hope to make, the material or examples you would discuss and why the piece suits Stellar Comedy Review. Keep the proposal specific; a broad subject such as comedy needs a sharper angle before it can become a useful article.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial enquiry option. Please share a short description of your idea; an unsolicited pitch is not a guarantee of publication, and we will consider it on its merits.
Every laugh has a little architecture
We enjoy the joke, then look at the choices beneath it: the expectation, the turn and the voice that gives it life.
